`gtk-recordmydesktop' can be used to record desktop sessions along with voice instructions from mike. This videos can be used to teach important concepts. The videos are recorded in ogv format and hence can be played in both Windows and Linux without installation of additional tools or codecs. The size and quality of video file is also decent such that tutorial is recorded clearly and it does not occupy too much space.
