Deploy vRealize Operations via vRealize LifeCycle Manager on vcloud foundation setup
To deploy vRealize Operations via vRealize LifeCycle Manager on vcloud foundation setup use:
- Assuming binary for vrealize operations was downloaded on SDDC manager and has been synced with LifeCycle manager.
- Assuming workspace one access has already been deployed. See Deploy workspace one access via vRealize LifeCycle Manager on vcloud foundation setup
- Log into Lifecycle manager.
- Go to Lifecycle operations -> Settings. Click on "My VMware". Login with "My VMWare" account and save credentials in locker, as required.
- This My VMWare login is required for obtaining product versions. Without this the deployment might fail.
- Go to Lifecycle operations -> Dashboard
- Click on "Create environment"
- Give appropriate environment name, Select root password, Select datacenter
- Select product and deployment size required
- Note no. of nodes selected here. That many IPs and FQDN would be required for the setup.
- Certificate generated should have FQDN for these nodes and the virtual IP.
- Accept license agreement
- On license page click select to select already added license to vRealize Lifecycle manager locker. Select the license. Validate association. Click next.
- On the certificate page select existing certificate or click + sign to create a new certificate. The new certificate should be valid for vrops cluster FQDN and also for its nodes FQDN (eg vrops.domain.com, vrops1.domain.com, vrops2.domain.com, etc.)
- On infrastructure page select thin disk and click next
- On network page note that vrops is getting deployed on xRegion network along with Lifecyle manager and workspace one access.
- This is in contrast to log insight which gets deployed in Region A network. See Deploy vRealize Operations via vRealize LifeCycle Manager on vcloud foundation setup
- On products page disable TLS1 and TLS1.1
- Enable DRS rules to keep nodes on separate hosts
- Enter vrops cluster IP FQDN. Enter names of VMs, FQDN and their IPs.
- Run pre-check
- Deploy vrops once pre-check have passed.
- After the deployment vRealize Operations can be accessed via virtual IP FQDN using https://
- You can login into vRealize Operations using account (Eg configurationadmin) created on workspace one access.
