In Cisco UCS unified fabric switch ports can be converted from 10G network to storage. This conversion allows ports starting from 1 to be network ports and ports starting from 48, 47, (46, 45, ...) in reverse order (2 ports at a time) to be converted to storage. To convert more / less ports use following steps:

  1. Open Cisco Unified Computing Storage Manager
  2. Under "Equipment" click on corresponding "Fabric Interconnect"
  3. Choose "Physical Display" tab in the right pane
  4. Right click on the switch and not on empty space and choose "Configure Unified Ports" option
  5. Click "Yes" on warning message. Note that switch will reboot after configuration change.
  6. Drag and slide the slider to convert more/less ports to FC.
  7. Apply and switch will reboot automatically
