  1. Download appropriate vrops ova (Eg vRealize-Operations-Manager-Appliance-6.6.1.6163035_OVF10.ova)
  2. Choose desired name (eg vrops.rnd.com) and template folder.
  3. Choose desired compute.
  4. On 'Review details' page click next
  5. Accept license agreement and click next
  6. Choose desired configuration (Eg extra small) based on environment and click next.
  7. Choose virtual disk format (Thin/Thick, etc.) and desired datastore. Clickl next.
  8. Choose desired network and click next
  9. On next page choose appropriate values such as:
    Networking properites
    Appropriate static IP
    Timezone setting
    Select appropriately (Eg Asia/Kolkata)
    and click next
  10. On "Ready to complete" review details and click "Finish" to start deploying ova.
  11. Power on the appliance after it is deployed. Wait for machine to boot. It takes considerable time to configure itself and reboots. After reboot colored vrli screen will come with FQDN displayed.
  12. Open https://<vrops-ip-or-fqdn> to get installation wizard.
  13. Choose "New installation" and click "Next" on getting started page.
  14. Set desired administrator password for web admin user and click "Next"
  15. Leave "Use the default certificate option" and click "next"
  16. Under deployment settngs enter appropriate master node name (Eg vrops.rnd.com). If there is a local NTP server add it. Finally click next.
  17. Click "Finish" on "Ready to Complete" screen to complete setup. The browser should automatically open /admin administration interface for vrops. Note that vrops has only /admin and not any separate management on port 5480.
  18. Click "Start vRealize Operations Manager" under "Cluster status" once the option becomes available.
  19. Click "Yes" on first application startup. Cluster status should change to "Going online". Wait till master node state is "Running" and cluster status is "Online". The "Bring offline" button would appear once cluster is fully online. The process might take 20-30mins.
  20. Open https://vrops.rnd.com and login as "Local Users" with admin and selected password.
  21. On Welcome screen click next
  22. Accept license agreement and click next
  23. Enter product key and validate. Click next
  24. Opt-out of CEIP and click next.
  25. On "Ready to complete" screen click "Finish"
  26. Go to Administration -> Solutions. Select "VMWare vSphere" and click configure button to configure integration of vrops and vcenter.
    • On Manage Solution pop-up use:
    Display Name
    Desired (Eg vcenter.rnd.com)
    vCenter Server
    vCenter IP or FQDN (Eg vcenter.rnd.com)
    Under Crendentails
    click '+" and add vcenter details credentails name (administrator@vsphere.local), username ( administrator@vsphere.local) and corresponding password.
    1. Click 'Test connection' and 'Accept certificate'. Click 'Ok' on success message.
    2. Click 'Save settings' to save configuration. Click 'ok' on save confirmation.
    3. Click close
  27. Go to Environment -> vSphere Environment -> vSphere Hosts and Clusters -> vSphere World -> <vCenter instance name> -> <Datacenter-name> -> <Cluster-name> -> <ESXi-hostname> -> <VM-name>
    If the tree structure is available then vCenter integration has succedded. After waiting 20-30 mins go to various Dashboards and check for operations information.
