How to Create an Intune Trial Account
Description
Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based service used for managing and securing devices and apps. To get started with Intune, you can create a free trial account that lasts for 30 days and includes up to 25 user licenses.
Purpose
Creating an Intune trial account allows organizations or IT professionals to test features like device management, app deployment, compliance policies, and integration with Azure AD before making a purchase.
Steps
- Go to the Microsoft Intune trial signup page: Microsoft 365 Trial.
- Click on Try 1 month free under Microsoft 365 Business Premium (this includes Intune).
- Enter your name, business email, and organization details.
- Create a user ID (e.g., `admin@yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com`) and set a strong password.
- Verify your identity via phone number (SMS or call).
- Wait for setup to complete – you will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- From the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Admin centers > Endpoint Manager to access the Intune portal.
Real-world Example
An IT admin working on a POC (Proof of Concept) for mobile device management sets up an Intune trial to test enrolling Windows, Android, and iOS devices and applying security policies to them before the company makes a purchase decision.
Notes
- The trial includes 25 user licenses for 30 days.
- It also provides access to Microsoft 365 apps and Azure AD.
- Use a secondary phone number/email for recovery and verification.
- Make sure to note your admin credentials and portal URL.
- After the trial, you can convert to a paid plan if needed.
