= Veeam Backup & Replication Installation Guide =

== 1. Download the ISO ==
Download the required version of the Veeam Backup & Replication ISO from the following link:

== 2. Mount the ISO and Launch Setup ==
Mount the ISO file and run setup.exe to begin the installation process using the installation wizard.

== 3. License Agreement ==
Accept the license agreement, then click OK and Next.

== 4. License File ==
* If you have a license file, browse and provide it from your local system.  
* If you do not have a license file, click Next to proceed with the installation with the Community Edition.

== 5. Program Features ==
In the Program Features section, select the installation path for Veeam software and click Next.

* If no path is selected, it will be installed by default to:  
C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication

== 6. System Configuration Check ==
The installer will perform a system configuration check and display any required components/packages.

* If your system meets the minimum requirements, click Next to continue.

== 7. Default Configuration ==
The wizard will display the default configuration settings for Veeam.

* You can customize these settings, but in most cases, it's recommended to proceed with the default configuration.  
* Click Install to begin the installation.

== 8. Finish Installation ==
After the installation completes, click Finish to close the wizard.

= Veeam Backup & Replication - Version Upgrade Guide =

== Pre-Upgrade Steps ==
* Save the backup configuration.
* Pause all backup jobs.
* Ensure all Veeam services are stopped.
* Check compatibility between the current and target versions.

* '''VBR 11a (build 11.0.1.1261) or later''': Direct upgrade to 12.3 is supported.
* '''VBR 10a or later''': Direct upgrade to VBR 12.0 is supported. VBR 12 does not support upgrading directly from 9.5 Update 4b.

== Download and Mount the ISO ==
* Download the ISO of the target version.
* Mount the ISO and run '''setup.exe'''.
* The Veeam Backup & Replication installation wizard will launch. Continue with the installation.

== Upgrade Process ==
* The installer will automatically detect the current version of Veeam Backup & Replication and prompt for an upgrade.
* If '''Veeam Enterprise Manager''' is installed and running an older version, you must upgrade it first. Only after that will the Veeam Backup & Replication upgrade option will be enabled.
* If the system has not been restarted for a long time, a reboot may be required during the upgrade of Enterprise Manager.

== License Agreement ==
* Accept the license agreement.
* You will be prompted to provide a license file:
** If you have a subscription, log in to your Veeam account to download the license file.
** If you do not have a license, you can proceed with the Community Edition by clicking '''Next'''.
