CentOS 8.x Owncloud single user receives access forbidden while using desktop sync client
Once in a while you might face a bizzare issue that only a particular user is unable to login using Desktop client with "Access forbidden" error even after his/her password is reset. The issue seems to get solved by generating an app token for user and then using the app token instead of password for login.
For generating app password/token use following steps:
- Login as that specific user (not as admin) into owncloud web console
- Go to settings -> Security and scroll to bottom to "App passwords / tokens".
- Enter appropriate App name such as desktop client and click "Create new app password"
- Now login into desktop client using this app password.
