To configure Linksys switches (specifically SLM224G2) as client for radius server use following steps:

  1. Log into switch using web administration interface.
  2. Go to Security -> Radius Setting page.
    1. Enter radius server IP address, port (default 1812 on new servers) and radius password. (assuming 'radiuspass') for this tutorial.
    2. Click on 'Save settings' button to save configuration
  3. Now go to Security -> 802.1x settings page
    1. Choose 'enable 802.1X' option
    2. Click 'Save settings'
    3. Now choose ports on which you want to enable 'Network Access Control'
    4. Now click 'Save current settings'

After these the selected ports get configured for 802.1x and until authorized by RADIUS server, will not become part of network.
