Basic access

Samba swat web interface can be accessed at http://localhost:901/, if swat package is installed. Login using normal Ubuntu username and password.

Web interface provides access to documentation to install samba. It provides option to see status of various samba daemons and also various active samba connections to existing shares. It also provides option for viewing current config file or full configuration including all default values. It also provides option for chaging user password.


Advanced access

To access SWAT interface for full advanced interface login using root username and password. In Ubuntu if root password can be set using 'sudo passwd' command. Advanced interface allows very complex configuration starting from allowing to change global defaults to individual share settings.
