Deploy vRealize Business for Cloud 7.3 and connect it to vRA 7.3

  1. Download appropriate vrb ova file (Eg vRealize-Business-for-Cloud-7.3.1.14362-6400451_OVF10.ova) and choose ova deployment wizard from vCenter.
  2. Choose desired name (eg vrb.rnd.com) and template folder.
  3. Choose desired compute.
  4. On 'Review details' page click next
  5. Accept license agreement and click next
  6. Choose virtual disk format (Thin/Thick, etc.) and desired datastore. Clickl next.
  7. Choose desired network and click next
  8. On next page choose appropriate values such as:
    Current
    Required (Eg INR)
    Enable SSH
    Checked
    Enable Server
    Checked
    CEIP
    Unchecked
    Root user password
    Redacted
    Networking properites
    Appropriate static IP
    and click next
  9. On "Ready to complete" review details and click "Finish" to start deploying ova.
  10. Power on the appliance after it is deployed.
  11. On the warning display on vCenter Summany page for the appliance click Answer link. Select 'No' and then select ok.
    The appliance should now start booting. Open console for the appliance. Once booting is complete option to open https://<appliance-ip>:5480/ would be shown.
  12. Open appliance 5480 management web interface and login as root user.
  13. Under Registration -> vRA enter vra details such as:
    Hostname
    Required (eg vra.rnd.com)
    SSO Default Tenant
    vsphere.local
    SSO Admin User
    administrator
    SSO Admin Password
    redacted
    Enable 'Accept "vRealize Automation" certificate' option.
    Click Register. Wait for "Registered with vRealize Automation" success message.
  14. Login into vra as configurationadmin.
    1. Create custom group with required permissions for business management
      1. Go to Administration -> Users and groups -> Custom Groups.
      2. Edit group "Super admnistrators" or create new appropriate group. Add roles for various business management.
    2. Connect vRealize Business for Cloud to vCenter
      1. Click the administration tab and click 'Business Management'. Then expand 'manage private cloud connections', and 'vCenter servers'.
      2. On the right hand side of the black box you will see plus sign. Click this to add a vCenter server
      3. Enter the details for your vCenter and click 'save'.
        In case you do not want to connect vRB with full administrator privileges, create a user with read-only role in vCenter and connect using that. This can also be used if you want vRB to look at only a few vCenter objects (eg only one cluster) and not everything
  15. (Re) Login as a user with various business management privileges (Eg configurationadmin). Now "Business Management" tab should appear in vra.
  16. Go to Business Management and add either vRB or "VMware vCloud Suite Enterprise" license and click save.
  17. Various Business Management options should now get enabled. We have to wait for considerable time for VMs to appear as part of vrb calculations by default. To make it soon click on "Status" on top right corner and click "Update now" for all three options (calculations, vcenter, vra).
  18. vrb cab also be accessed directly using https://vrb.rnd.com/ Use Username: configurationadmin, Tenant:vsphere.local and corresponding password to login.
