Load average keeps increasing on CentOS 5.3. This happens if you disable mcstrans service. The cron file `<tt>/etc/cron.hourly/mcelog.cron</tt>' hangs forever while executing command cat `<tt>/sys/hypervisor/uuid</tt>' and hence the number of processes on system keeps increasing. Load average keeps increasing on CentOS 5.3. This happens if you disable mcstrans service. The cron file `/etc/cron.hourly/mcelog.cron' hangs forever while executing command cat `/sys/hypervisor/uuid' and hence the number of processes on system keeps increasing. This leads to very steep increase in load average.
To solve the issue open file `/etc/cron.hourly/mcelog.cron'. Comment all code lines in it and write `exit 0' at the end of file.
