It might be required to send outgoing emails to a particular domain (or all outgoing emails) via a SMTP Gateway / Smart host or Send connector. To configure the same (or view existing configuration) use:

  1. Login into exchange admin center via Web UI
  2. Go to "Mail Flow" -> "Send connectors"
  3. Here we can either create a new send connector with parameters such as:
    • Name to identify connector
    • IP address or FQDN of Smart Host (SMTP Gateway)
    • Define authentication details for SMTP Gateway, if required
    • Address space. This can be * for generic smart host for all domains
    • Source server - Select one or more exchange servers that will be used to initiate connection to Smart host.
