In Ubuntu 14.04 it was observed that print requests get held automatically even when settings indicate "No held". This does not gets solved by editing '/etc/cups/printer.conf' or similar files. In Ubuntu 14.04 it was observed that print requests get held automatically even when settings indicate "No held". This does not gets solved by editing '/etc/cups/printer.conf' or similar files. To solve problem for current boot one of the below two methods can be used:
- Delete printer from printers settings page. Reconnect printer USB cable and printer should get added automatically. Further prints should work properly.
- Restart printer and choose release. Further prints should work properly.
A good permanent solution for this problem was not found.
