Setup Cyberoam iView on Windows

To configure cyberoam iView on Windows use following steps:

  1. Create a VM with Windows 7. Initial feed-back from others is that Windows 8, 10 do not work. I have not tried iView setup on Windows yet.
  2. Download Appropriate Windows setup file from https://sourceforge.net/projects/cyberoam-iview/files/ Name of latest stable release is typically shown at the top. You can also download installation manuals from the Documents folder from the same link.
  3. In Windows installation must be done from *administrator* user only. Even if you try installation from other user (Eg Kiran) with administrative privileges, it will not work.
  4. Do normal next, next, next type of installation
  5. Reboot the machine
  6. Check iView dashboard at http://<machine-ip>:8000/
  7. Log into admin console on cyberoam
  8. Go to "Logs & Reports" -> Configuration
  9. Enter IP address of the iView server. Port number is 514. Select Facility Daemon and Severity Information or Debug. Format can be left as it is to CyberoamStandardFormat.
  10. Go to "Log settings" tab
  11. Select appropriate categories for which logs are desired for the newly added Log server
  12. Again log into iView dashboard
  13. Add the new device with appropriate name and type as 'cyberoam'
  14. You can also go to iView Dashboard. System -> Archives -> Live Logs. Select the correct device and click Go. Also click 'Start update'.
