Tipcs for updating DNS records in Godaddy

Useful tips while using GoDaddy DNS services

  • Use @ to point to domain or SOA for which DNS is being managed
  • In MX points to enter FQDN eg mail.example.com and not just mail as Godaddy appends (.) on entered name
  • Export Zone file in Unix format and validate manually that configuration is as desired. This helps in avoiding issues as explained for MX records above.
