We can disable automatic update in Ubuntu via CLI using:
# Edit '<tt>/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20auto-upgrades</tt>' so that it has: <source type=shell>
APT::Periodic::Update-Package-Lists "0";
APT::Periodic::Download-Upgradeable-Packages "0";
APT::Periodic::AutocleanInterval "0";
APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "0";

=Disable automatic-update via GUI=
We can disable automatic update in Ubuntu via GUI using:
# Go to "Software" -> "Software and updates"
# Go to "Updates" tab
# Again "Automatically check for updates" select Never
