Alias CNAME record cannot be added error while adding DNS entry in Windows AD

If you get error:

The DNS name contains records that are incompatible with the CNAME record.

while trying to add entry into AD DNS then sort all existing records alphabetically. There must be an existing A record with same name that is causing this error to be displayed. Deleting the A record will allow the CNAME record to be added.
