Account Restoration in a New Browser Using Recovery Kit

Restore Account in a New Browser

Install the Passbolt Browser Extension

Open your new browser. Visit the browser’s extension/add-on store. Install the official Passbolt browser extension.

Access the Passbolt Server

 https://<your-passbolt-server>

Begin Setup Process

Enter the email address associated with your Passbolt account.

Upload the Recovery Kit

When prompted, upload your recovery key file (private GPG key).

Enter Your Passphrase

Provide the passphrase linked to the uploaded GPG key.

Final Configuration

Choose your security token color.

If 2FA (TOTP) is enabled, enter the verification code from your authenticator app.

Access Restored

After completing these steps, you will regain full access to your Passbolt account in the new browser.

Important: If you do not have your recovery key, recovery is not possible in Passbolt CE. An admin must delete your user account and create a new one.
