# Install Windows Server 2012 R2 on a VM or physical server.  
#: In case of a cloned VM, it might make sense to go to Windows -> Run and execute 'sysprep'.  System cleanup action - OOBE, generalize (MUST) and shutdown options - Reboot. Set timezone and keyboard.  Set administrator password.
# Login as administrator
# Ensure that system has desired static IP address.  DNS should be AD server that the host intends to join.
# Change computer name.  Give desired name and change from workgroup to domain (eg rnd.com)
# Give domain administrator username and password, and click ok.
# You should receive welcome to domain message.  
# Reboot the machine
# Optionally go to AD server - Active Directory Domain and Computers and verify that computer is listed under Computers
